Molly Jay Artist Bio

The Brick Lane Gallery ‘Works On Paper’ Exhibition, opening evening November 2022.

Molly Jay is an Illustrator and Portrait Artist from Staffordshire, UK.

Drawing since she could hold a pencil and greatly inspired by her grandad at a young age, Molly never felt more like herself whilst sitting and creating. She always knew Art was ingrained in her, and has been working as a Full Time Artist since 2019.

Starting off early in her career as a commission-based pencil Artist, Molly thoroughly enjoys the process of bringing her clients’ loved ones to life on paper, which they can cherish for years to come. Capturing the tiniest of details with every stroke of pencil is something that brings Molly immense satisfaction, and it’s incredibly rewarding knowing she makes people happy through her work.

In 2022, Molly began to draw some Original Artwork that focused on supporting Wildlife Conservation. Nature and Wildlife are very close to her heart and she’s passionate about living in a world where wildlife continues to exist.

Being half Fine Artist and half Illustrator, Molly Jay also enjoys illustrating & designing greeting cards amongst other illustrated giftware not only for her own e-commerce but for external companies too.

Although specialising in Coloured Pencils, she has worked in several mediums over her life, including Acrylic, Watercolour, Oils, Graphite, Digital Illustration, Calligraphy and Lettering. Molly still continues to adapt her mediums depending on the brief at hand.
